A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Amb. AbdulFatai Yahaya Seriki, has rejoiced with Muslims in the state over the successful completion of the month of Sha’aban 1445 and the beginning of the glorious month of Ramadan tomorrow (Saturday).
He added that the glorious month of Ramadan showcases compulsory fasting which is a moment for deep reflection and greater fear of Allah and practice of Islam with utmost commitments.
Yahaya Seriki, the Founder and Managing Director of Kursi Investments Limited stated this in a statement issued on Friday stressing that, “I rejoice with the entire Muslim Ummah for witnessing the glorious month of Ramadan 1445.”
Speaking further, the APC chieftain extended his goodwill message to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq CON, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, all traditional rulers in the state, and members of the Kwara State Council of Ulama as well as youth groups and associations.
He however congratulates them over the commencement of the Ramadan fasting, urging them to use the season “to project the best and finest virtues of Islam by personal conducts and positive reflections.”
Amb. Yahaya Seriki said: “Let us use this opportunity to put the best teachings of Islam into practice, such as kindness, piety, charity and the love of humanity.”
“The month of Ramadan is characterised by abstention from food and drinks from dawn to dusk, which brings both the rich and poor to share the experience of hunger together, thereby strengthening the bonds between haves and have-nots.
“Let us not forget that Ramadan is not only about abstention from eating and drinking, but it is a reminder to refrain from all kinds of evil and transgressions that harm humanity.”
He therefore urged Kwarans to continue to support the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led government in the state in order to witness more growth and infrastructural development across all facets of the state’s economy.
