2019: Igbos warned not to contest against Buhari

An All Progressives Congress (APC) party chieftain in Abia state, Prince Paul Ikonne, has urged Igbos to support  in 2019 in order to stand a better chance of clinching the country’s number one political position in 2023.

Ikonne is of the opinion that failure to support Buhari in 2019 will negatively impact on the political interest of the region in the future. Read also: You can’t present 2018 budget, Reps tell Buhari

He warned Igbos against repeating what he described as the “mistake of 2015,” and urged the region to wait till 2023 when President Buhari would have completed his second term in office.

In his statement, the APC chieftain noted that the “5 percent votes” recorded by Buhari in 2015 would gain a quantum leap to 99.9 per cent in 2019.

Ikonne, also commended Buhari for appointing Igbos into four key ministries within his administration.

“Don’t forget that he picked our brothers as his running mates in the past yet some people still claim he hates us,” Ikonne said
