2023: President, Igbo World Assembly joins presidential race under PDP

The President of Igbo World Assembly, a socio cultural pressure group established by Igbos in diaspora, Dr Nwachukwu Anakwenze, has expressed his interest to join in the nation’s 2023 presidential context on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
Dr Anakwenze who held a town hall meeting with some Igbo leaders of thought,Socio political pressure groups, Civil Societies and some Igbo Youth Organizations in Enugu yesterday, on why he is joining the 2023 presidential race said he will purchase the PDP presidential nomination form on Friday, March 25_ at Abuja.
Dr Anakwenze, who also holds the traditional title of ‘Onowu’ of Abagana in Anambra state, disclosed that even as a cross section of tribal leaders from the North, Middle belt and South West of Nigeria, discussed and urged him to go into the race, he will still embark on further consultations after picking the nomination form.
He insisted it is the turn of the South East zone of the country to produce the president of Nigeria in 2023,based on the rotation principle which has previously favoured South West and the South South zones, since 1999 the power sharing with the North started.
He said he will bank on his experience and exposure to turn around the economy of Nigeria within a period of fifteen years stating Nigeria has both the human and materials to be among the first ten leading economy min the globe but bad leadership and corruption.
He stated, “Nigeria is huge enough for everybody Nigeria has the capacity to hold every body. Nigeria has .the intellectuals. Nigeria has all it takes to lift the county, all we are saying is to give the South East zone a chance to lead and rise Nigeria, Africa in the world standing”.
Dr Anakwenze discussed that if elected as president of Nigeria in 2023,that his major focus will be on Youth development. He said he will devote over thirty five percent of the nation’s economy in training Nigerian Youths on skill acquisition and thereafter give them loans to purchase equipment to develop their businesses before paying back.
He also pledged to develop the Agricultural sector, revamping groundnuts and palm plantations across the North and Southern divides of the country.
Dr Anakwenze said he will fight corruption in Nigeria by expanding the economy and increasing wages of workers. While sourcing alternative energy sources for the country from abundant natural gas deposits from the riverine areas, which presently constitute economic hazards to the hosts communities through explosion because they are under utilised”.
