3 Female UNILORITES gets Christopher Dowswell Scholarship

A non-profit organization based in the United States, Winrock International, has selected three female students of the University of Ilorin for the 2016 Christopher Dowswell Scholarship for support towards their academic programme.

The three recipients, Ajogwu Hope, Kofoworola Adeniyi and Ogar Elizabeth who are presently undergoing the Agricultural Extension and Community Development (Sasakawa) programme at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ilorin, are to benefit from the scholarship support worth USD $1,600 annually for up to three years, respectively.

According to their Award letters signed by the Director, Agriculture & Volunteer Programs, Mr. DeAnn McGrew, a copy of which was made available to the Unilorin Bulletin, “The scholarship will provide support to the tune of USD 1,600 each year and will be automatically renewed, subject to available funds, for up to three years or until completion of degree.”

The Award Letters further stated that, “All scholarships are subject to enrollment and satisfactory academic progress and will be checked at the end of each academic year.”

According to Winrock International, the support covers “any study-related expenses including tuition, examination fees, research expenses, laptops and/or living expenses.”
