3 housewives kidnapped in Kaduna

Three house wives were in the early hours of Sunday abducted by gunmen in Maganda, a village in Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna state just as a 12 year old child was said to have sustained injuries from gunshots during the incident.
An eyewitness hinted that the bandits invaded the village at about 2:00am on Sunday when the incident took place, adding that on entering the village, the gunmen started shooting sporadically and went into the compound of Alhaji Adamu Nakwalla in search of him.
Before they got into the compound, the targeted victim was said to have gone into hiding upon hearing the gunshots, hence they could not find him, the source said.
He said out of annoyance, the bandits decided to abduct Nakwalla’s three wives when they couldn’t find him. One of the wives was later released at Danyamu, a neighbouring village and was given a phone number to deliver to her husband to call.
According to him “the gunmen were so many. They came at about 2:00am and started shooting sporadically. They went to the residence of Alhaji Adamu Nakwalla and started searching for him but they couldn’t get him because he went into hiding when he heard gunshots.
“The bandits abducted his three wives and left, but when they got to Danyamu village, they released one of the wives and gave her their phone number to give to her husband to call them.
“Many communities were yet to feel the impact of the security agencies deployed to the area. In our area, there are no security personnel. That made the criminals to operate freely. We are just at their mercy. They kill, kidnap and rape. It is a very horrible situation” he lamented.
Speaking further, the eyewitness who preferred anonymity appealed to the state and federal government to urgently step up action to stop the bandits from terrorising communities in Birnin Gwari area.
It would be recalled that last Tuesday, about 11 people were reportedly killed when bandits invaded four villages in the area despite the recently launched military operation code named “Operation Idon Raini” by the Nigeria Army to flush out the bandits.
During the launching in Kompanin Doka village, the chief of army staff, Gen Tukur Buratai had ordered troops to flush the hoodlums within three weeks just as the police deployed 200 additional personnel to the area to curb the incessant banditry that has crippled farming and socio-economic activities in the area..
As t the time of filing this report, all efforts to reach the spokesman, Kaduna state police command, Aliyu Mukhtar for comment was unsuccessful as he was not responding to telephone calls.
