5 million African children die of hunger daily—- John Kufuor

The Former Ghanaian President, Mr John Kufuor, has frown at the harship posed on African children adding that about five million of African children died of hunger on daily basis

Speaking at the Special Convocation ceremony of the Kwara State University, Malete, on Tuesday Kufuor stressed that that 33 percent in the African continent suffered among the committee of nations.

At the event, ex-President Kufuor, Fola Adeola of the Guaranty Trust Bank and a renown artist, Alhaji Jaigbade Alao were honoured with the honourary doctorate of the university.

He added that climate change constitute danger to the entire planet noted as the world has turned into a global village, African stand at disadvantaged because they were not fast at technology

Kufuor also frown on poor governance poor leadership, dictatorship and impunity added that African should equip themselves with good leadership and good government

Speaking further,the Chancellor, Kwara state University Prof, Ibrahim Agboola Gambari said the Awardees have achieved greatness and carved a niche for themselves and also contributed immensely to their respective calling and impacted
positively on humanity at large added that they have to be celebrated hence the need for the awards by KWASU for their laudable contributions

While speaking on the 2019 general election, he kicked against vote buying added that those who benefited from vote buying were worst
thanthose who perpetuate political thuggeries as they mortgage the future of their the people and ultimately undermine democratic
process. He also identify the challenges facing the country as growing
socio-economic inequality within and between various communities as
well as within and between states in the country. Poor governance
which include but not limited to financial corruption, lack of
transparency, inadequate accountability and in some cases, downright
impunity.All of these must engage our attention as we go trough the
campaigns for the 2019 elections. He said and stressed the need for
concerted national efforts by all the stakeholders, the INEC,
political parties, security agencies, the electorate,and the
international community to bring about” we must as a nation, resolve
beyond doubts and say forward ever from 2015″
