7 additional Kwara PDP aspirants withdraw ambition

No fewer than seven additional Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) aspirants have withdrawn from the gubernatorial primary of the party in Kwara state.

ROYAL NEWS reports that with the development, eight aspirants have since stepped down.

Those that have withdrawn from the race are Dr Ali Ahmad, Alh Saka Isau,SAN,Alh Ladi Hassan, Ibrahim Ajia, Mal Bolaji Abdullahi, Hon. Zakari Mohammed and Hon. Ahman Pategi.

The contest is now a straight fight between House of Representatives member, Barr. Razak Atunwa from Kwara Central and Senator Sha’aba Lafiagi from Kwara north.

The aspirants announced their withdrawal from the race at the ongoing primary election holding at Banquet hall, Ilorin.
Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed who explained that the 8 aspirants withdrew from the race because of the party’s interest thanked them for their act of magnanimity.
The governor also thanked the state’s political leader, Dr Bukola Saraki for his wise counseling and purposeful leadership which have kept members of the PDP united in the state.
The voting has commenced and delegates are conducting themselves in an orderly manner.
