The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Umar JG Mohammed, PhD, has pledged his commitment to collaborate closely with the Deputy Director of Security (DDS) of the University of Ilorin, Mr. Paul B. Ogidi.
This is part of strategic move to combat crimes within and around the University of Ilorin campus.
Umar stated this on Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the Deputy Director of Security and his entourage at the State Command Headquarters in Ilorin.
He emphasized the role of NSCDC in safeguarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, which includes educational institutions at all levels.
The NSCDC boss also highlighted the ongoing efforts of the command to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for students.
He further disclosed the command’s readiness to train the school security guards with the goal of empowering them with the necessary skills and resources to effectively address any security threats, thereby ensuring the safety and well-being of the entire campus community.
In his remarks, Mr. Ogidi commended the NSCDC for its unwavering commitment and professionalism in ensuring peace and stability within the state.
He stated that the visit aims to seek further support from the NSCDC and to bolster the existing partnership.
