
ROYAL NEWS reports that late Mahe, a Prince and son of the late 10th Emir of Ilorin, Mallam Aliyu AbdulKadir, died at the age of 73.
Speaking with our correspondent at the family residence of the deceased, a close family member and confidant said, “Alhaji Mahe was healthy. On Friday 27th December 2024, we attended the wedding ceremonies at the Chief Imam of Ilorin’s residence and at the Belgore family house.
“After that, we attended jumat service at Ansaru-deen Central mosque along Taiwo road, Ilorin. We later went to Immigration headquarters for capturing for the renewal of his lost passport. He was planning to travel for lesser Hajj in Saudi Arabia as soon as the passport is re-issued.”
The source added that, “We later proceeded to his family house where he attended some family engagements and left around 7pm. He proceeded to Agaka area to see his friend, Alhaji Lawal Baba Ariyibi and finally retired to his house at Moro close, Adewole Estate, Ilorin.
Speaking on his last moment, “On Saturday 28th December 2024, around after 8am, Alhaji Mahe drove to my along New Yidi road and called me on the phone from outside, immediately I saw him, he was weak in the car. I asked him if there was any problem with him, he replied: “Nothing, I noticed body weakness just now.”
“I told him that why don’t you call me to come and pick you at home? We called a Medical Doctor immediately for an appointment at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH). He eventually breath his last breathe before we got to the hospital.”
Recalled that late Mahe was buried at his residence after the funeral prayer led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Muhammad Bashir Imam-Soliu OON.
Dignitaries at the janazah were; Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his Kogi State counterpart, Governor Usman Ododo, Mutawalle of Ilorin, Dr. Alimi Abdulrazaq, Dr. Ghali Alaaya, Hon. Yinka Aluko, Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the state, Dr Umar J.G. Mohammed, Hon. Ishola Balogun-Fulani, Magaji Muse of Ilorin, Engr. Abubakar Aduragba, Danmasani of Ilorin, Engr. Sulyman Alapansapa, Tafida of Ilorin, Alhaji Kawu Baraje and Danmadami of Ilorin, Alhaji Shehu Gafar among others.
