President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive development, stating that no Nigerian is too insignificant to benefit from the dividends of democracy.
Speaking through House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas at the commissioning of a newly constructed road in the Giri area of Abuja on Monday, Tinubu praised the efforts of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for projects that are impacting both urban and rural communities.
“The Minister’s work speaks for itself across the FCT—from Maitama and Wuye to Gwagwalada and Giri,” Tinubu said. “These projects demonstrate that under this administration, no community is too small, and no citizen too distant to enjoy democratic benefits.”
He emphasized that the new road infrastructure would open up the Giri district, improving connectivity and economic potential within the FCT.
FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, described the road as a clear example of the administration’s drive to enhance infrastructure and promote development in under-served areas.
Project Supervisor Dauda noted that the road contract was awarded in November 2024 to support access to the Giri district, which is earmarked for institutional development. He also revealed that the main sewage treatment plant for the city would be located in the same district.
The commissioning underscores Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” aimed at ensuring balanced development and expanding infrastructure across Nigeria.
