The Kwara State Resident Registration Agency(KWASRRA) has called for greater collaboration with relevant federal and state government agencies to strengthen its resident registration drive and improve service delivery.
This appeal was made during a stakeholders’ engagement meeting convened by KWASRRA with key agencies, including the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), National Population Commission (NPC), and the Kwara State Health Insurance Scheme (KWHIS).
Speaking at the meeting, KWASRRA General Manager, Mr. Abiodun Jimoh, stressed the importance of strategic partnerships in achieving the agency’s mandate of building a comprehensive and inclusive residents’ database.
“For KWASRRA to succeed, collaboration with stakeholders like NIMC, NPC, and KWHIS is essential,” he said. “Your presence here today demonstrates our shared goal of developing a reliable database that supports planning, resource allocation, and improved public services.”
Mr. Jimoh acknowledged the widespread challenges associated with data collection, noting that effective cooperation across agencies was necessary to overcome obstacles and ensure accurate and efficient registration.
The meeting brought together representatives from Proximaforte Ltd—the consultancy handling the residents’ card project—as well as officials from NIMC, NPC, KWHIS, and KWASRRA.
The engagement aimed to identify areas of alignment among the agencies, streamline data-sharing processes, and enhance the integration of registration systems across the state.
KWASRRA said it would continue to pursue stakeholder partnerships to strengthen its institutional capacity and advance its objective of providing credible demographic data for the state government.
