The Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) has announced a temporary closure of the road stretch from Challenge Junction to the Post Office area in Ilorin effective from tomorrow 3rd August 2025.
This closure, according to the Authority, is in line with the administration’s ongoing efforts under the leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to upgrade road infrastructure to global standards. The move is also aimed at easing traffic congestion and minimizing man-hour losses caused by prolonged gridlock within the metropolis.
Motorists coming from Ajase Ipo Road are advised to use alternative routes via Police Road through Office Road to access the Post Office Roundabout/Flyover.
Similarly, those approaching from Oja Oba are encouraged to continue along the usual Muritala Mohammed Way, then proceed through Unity Junction to link up with Ajase Ipo Road.
Those coming from Unity road should make use of Ilofa Road through Office Road to Post Office roundabout.
KWARTMA urges all road users to cooperate with traffic officials and adhere to the diversion instructions, as the temporary measure is aimed at delivering long-term relief and improved road experience.
