Panic erupted on Okereke Street, Mile 1 Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after a man identified only as “Doctor” allegedly stabbed his lover, known as Ima, to death on Sunday night.
Witnesses said the incident followed a heated argument after the suspect accused the victim of infidelity. During the quarrel, he allegedly attacked her with a knife. The house caretaker reported the case to the police, who arrested the suspect and evacuated the body.
Confirming the development, police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko said the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
