Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has again cautioned truck operators against the unauthorised use of its logo, describing the practice as damaging to its reputation.
The company said despite repeated warnings, some independent truckers continue to brand their vehicles with the Dangote logo without approval, leading to incidents wrongly linked to its operations. It expressed concern that such misuse has embarrassed the organisation and misled the public.
In a statement, Dangote pledged to step up surveillance in partnership with security agencies and vowed to take legal action against offenders. “We will intensify monitoring and enforce decisive legal measures against the misuse of our brand identity, especially by vehicles unaffiliated with the Dangote Group,” the company said.
The firm also condemned the spread of misinformation, particularly claims linking accidents to its fleet, and urged the media and public to verify facts before circulation.
With a fleet of over 12,000 trucks in Nigeria, including more than 3,000 owned by contractors, Dangote noted that at least 6,000 of its vehicles are on the road daily, supporting its logistics chain and sustaining more than 36,000 jobs.
