The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced October 22 to 26 as the dates for the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) by citizens who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in Anambra State.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja, the Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Mrs. Victoria Eta-Messi, urged registered voters to visit their respective registration areas to collect their cards within the specified period.
She stressed that collection would be strictly in person, warning that no PVCs would be released through proxies. “All registered voters are urged to ensure they collect their PVCs within the specified period to be eligible to vote in the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra,” she said.
Eta-Messi also announced that the commission would conduct a mock accreditation exercise on Saturday, October 25, across selected polling units in the state’s three senatorial districts. The exercise, she explained, aims to test the functionality and response time of the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and assess the real-time uploading of results to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) portal ahead of the election.
The mock accreditation will take place in polling units across Awka South, Oyi, Anambra East, Aguata, and Orumba North local government areas.
Eta-Messi encouraged voters in the affected polling units to participate actively, noting that their involvement would help INEC refine its operational and technological processes before the 2025 Anambra governorship election.
She reaffirmed INEC’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and public confidence as preparations for the election continue.
