The Publisher of ROYAL NEWS Online Newspaper, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, has been inducted as an Associate Registered Practitioner In Advertising (arpa) of the prestigious Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
This followed his successful completion of the Executive Membership Registration- EMR Dec 2025 examination held on Thursday in Abuja,
Recall that the law establishing ARCON empowers it to determine who are advertising practitioners and maintain a register of practitioners.
Its mission is to promote and encourage responsible advertising practice and, at the same time, protect consumers in the advertising landscape.
Pursuant to this provision, ARCON conducts inductions from time to time to admit/initiate qualified persons into the advertising profession.
At the EMR-Dec 2025, no fewer than 100 members were inducted following their satisfaction of the requirements of the council.
In his remarks, ARCON Director-General, Dr. Olakekan Fadolapo, stressed that the newly inducted members have become one of the ambassadors and gate-keepers of Advertising in Nigeria.
He further emphasized on the numerous business opportunities available in the advertising profession and urged the inductees to look and see beyond the certificates that has been presented to them in fulfilment of the requiremrnt of becoming a member of the noble profession.
Facililators and topics treated at the 3-days intensive training were; Professor Samaila Mande, Principles and Practice of Advertising, Mr. Eki Adzufeh, Media Planning and Buying Strategy and Barrister Charles Odenigbo, Nigeria Advertising Laws and Regulations.
Others are; Mr. Segun Olaleye, Former Executive Secretary of BON, Mr. Dotun Babtunde, Understanding and Managing the Social Media Landscape and the ARCON Director-General, Dr. Olakekan Fadolapo, Advertising Industry Regulatory Framework.
Arowona is a member of many profesional bodies such as; Guild Of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, (NIPR), Institute for Crisis Resolution, Peacebuilding and Conciliation (ICRPC) and Chartered Institute of Economist of Nigeria (ICEN).
Others are the International Centre for Global Research, (ICGR), Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), and the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC)
