At least two people have been confirmed dead, while several others were injured in a multiple-vehicle accident on Saturday at Kara Bridge, inward Mowe, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said the crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. and involved a fully loaded articulated truck that overturned and rammed into other vehicles. The affected vehicles included a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota RAV4 SUV, and two loaded interstate Mazda buses.
Confirming the casualties, LASTMA said two fatalities were recorded, while the injured victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. The agency added that recovery operations were ongoing, with traffic congestion stretching back to the Secretariat area and River Valley/Kosoko axis.
LASTMA officials, supported by recovery trucks and emergency responders, were deployed to manage traffic and clear the scene. Motorists were advised to avoid the Ojodu-Berger corridor or expect significant delays as operations continue.
