Tension in Abuja Court as Sowore Confronts Former AGF Malami

Date:

Former presidential candidate and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, had a tense exchange with former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), on Monday at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where both men came face-to-face during proceedings.

The encounter quickly escalated as Sowore revisited his past prosecution for treason during the Buhari administration, accusing Malami of abusing state power against dissenters, particularly in relation to the #RevolutionNow protests.

Addressing Malami in court, Sowore said the political “tables had turned,” noting that the same system that once targeted him was now affecting the former AGF, while also mocking him in a sarcastic tone.

Malami responded calmly, insisting that he remained committed to Nigeria and suggesting that circumstances in life and politics often change, repeatedly stating that “the table keeps turning.”

Sowore further maintained his criticism of Malami’s tenure, recalling alleged injustices under the Buhari administration, while court officials and lawyers witnessed the heated but controlled exchange.
