The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, has congratulated Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki on his appointment as the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin.
The Sultan described the emergence of the new Chief Imam as an act of destiny ordained by Allah.
In a statement issued on Thursday, June 11, 2026, and signed by Prince Bashir Adefaka on behalf of his Media Team, His Eminence noted that leadership is a divine trust and responsibility.
“A leader is made by Allah. Whoever is chosen must always remember that he is accountable to Him in the discharge of his duties to the people he is appointed to serve,” the Sultan stated.
While commending the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for the appointment, the Sultan prayed that Almighty Allah grants the new Chief Imam the strength, wisdom, and increased knowledge required to successfully lead the Ulama and the Muslim community within the Kwara State Emirate.
Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar wished Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki a successful and impactful tenure in office.
