Doyin Okupe makes list as Labour Party appoints 1,233 campaign team

The Labour Party appointed a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ex-aide to Olusegun Obasanjo Doyin Okupe, and 1233 others into the party’s presidential campaign council.

The list of the campaign council was released in Abuja on Wednesday at a world Press conference to commence the campaign ahead of the 2023 general election.

Mr Oseluka Obaze is the Deputy Director General and General Manager of the campaign; while Alhaji Yusuf Bello Maitama, is the Deputy Director General (North), and Denzel Kentebe, the Deputy Director General (South).

Speaking on the make-up of the Council, Okupe explained that ascendancy of the Labour Party Presidential Ticket, to prime position in the hearts and minds of the Nigerian people, has been fuelled by the patriotic zeal, vibrancy , creativity and shining example, in discipline, character and decency of the Obidient movement, which has today rapidly evolved into the biggest voluntary political movement in Nigeria history.

According to Okupe, a significant number of the youth and drivers of of the Obi-Datti movement, are active members and supporters of the other political parties such as the APC and PDP, who could not ignore the overbearing superiority in leadership quality , personal disposition , national appeal, private and public service record, and the clear cut expression of vision and governance solutions, which Peter Obi and Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed have come to represent, for all true lovers of progress and national rebirth.

He assured Nigerians, that as the campaign commence the campaign for the 2023 elections, the party and her candidates, will remain committed, pursue a honest, clean and issue-based engagements, with the Nigerian people, whose mandate is being sought in order to turn around the fortunes of Nigeria.

the list was very carefully compiled with profound respect for our six Geopolitical Zones and many interest groups, tribes and tongues that make up our great Country Nigeria.

“The Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council is a working machine determined to transform the unprecedented organic and genuinely massive acceptance, followership and endorsement of Labour Party and it’s Presidential Candidate Mr. Peter Obi and our Vice Presidential Candidate Alhaji Datti-Baba Ahmed into a landslide Victory in the coming February,2023 Presidential Election of Mr. Peter Obi and Alhaji Datti-Baba Ahmed as the President and Vice President elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Majority of Nigerians have come to the conclusion that the so called big Political Parties have knocked the engine of our common vehicle called Nigeria. They are not capable of repairing the engine.

“We can not abandon our vehicle. We need a brand-new engine and trusted drivers to take us to our destination which is national unity, production, Human Capital Development and repositioning our dear Nation with pride and honour in the World.

“My brothers and sisters, to take back our country Nigeria from it’s bad Managers is a task that must be done. We are determined to serve Nigeria with all our strength and restore its dignity and honour.
We appeal to you and all Nigerians to come on Board and together we shall execute this task till we become victorious in February 2023.”
