Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has welcomed the Third Quarter 2025 Fiscal Transparency Report released by BudgIT Nigeria, describing it as validation of his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public governance.

In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the report ranked Osun among 11 states nationwide that recorded a perfect 100 per cent score, the state’s highest performance in over a decade.

Adeleke described the ranking as a ā€œNew Year boostā€ for the people of Osun, attributing the outcome to strict adherence to due process and open governance.

ā€œWe run a transparent, due process-driven administration. Across sectors, our budgetary processes continue to receive recognition,ā€ the governor said.

BudgIT’s assessment evaluated states on the availability, timeliness, and completeness of public finance documents, the functionality of e-procurement platforms, and public access to fiscal information. Adeleke said the results counter opposition claims and reflect effective management over the past three years.

He highlighted additional performance indicators, including improved primary healthcare access in the South-West, a rise in the state’s national examination ranking from 33rd to seventh, a reduction in public debt by over 40 per cent, and significant progress in addressing infrastructure deficits.

The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Moruf Adeleke, said the rating demonstrates transparent governance and effective budget implementation.

ā€œIt shows a government committed to openness, timely execution of budgets, and transparent procurement processes. We appreciate the governor for allowing fiscal managers to operate in line with national and global best practices,ā€ he said.
