AFAN honours Kwara commissioner with impactful leadership award

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) has honoured the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Community Development, Hon. Abdullahi Abubakar Bata with an award in the agricultural sector for his impactful leadership at the grassroots level.

The award was bestowed on the Commissioner during the 7th Kwara National Agric Fair 2024 earlier held in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital.

The event, which was organized for policy makers at the Local Government level and some selected farmers across the 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs), with a view to keeping them abreast of the planned programmes of action, as contained in the 10-year Agricultural Transformation Plan.

Hon. Bata, who was described as a man of integrity for ensuring that the dividends of democracy are felt by all and sundry, especially those at the grassroots level.

The Commissioner thanked the organisers of the Agric Fair for coming up with such a programme at this crucial time of acute shortage of food supply in the country, while assuring them of further synergy between the State Government and AFAN for ease of doing business across the Local Government Areas and the State at large.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Iyabo Modupe Adekeye also appreciated the organisers for their thoughtfulness and for finding the Commissioner worthy of the award.

She assured the organisers of the open door policy of the Ministry and their readiness to work together whenever the need arises.

Earlier, the representative of AFAN, Hon. Mohammed Idris Aliyu while presenting the leadership award to the Commissioner in his office, appreciated him and also attributed the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in the state to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who is impacting positively on the lives of the citizenry through good policies and programmes.
