Afritel trains journalists on good governance, accountability reporting

Afritel Multimedia Limited yesterday completed three days of training for media personnel and social media influencers in Kwara on good governance and accountability.

The training at the instance of Albarka FM (subsidiary of Afritel) in conjunction with the Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism and MacArthur Foundation was meant to equip journalists on good governance and accountability at the community level in Kwara State.

ROYAL NEWS reports that about 15 media personnel were drawn from across the media organizations in the state and underwent a 3-day workshop from 9th to 11th of August, 2022.

The facilitators took the participants through the areas of Data Journalism, Investigative Journalism, Social Media, and Media Freedom among others.

Among the facilitators includes Akinlolu Akinpelumi, Mayowa Adeniran, Sola Fagorusi, and Charles Mbah.

The facilitators enjoined the journalist to take advantage of the opportunity to become a well-rounded investigative journalist.
