The Danmasani of Ilorin and Chairman of the Ilorin Emirate Durbar Committee, Engr. Suleiman Yahaya Alapansanpa, FNSE, has congratulated the Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of Ilorin, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, on his 60th birthday, extolling his remarkable contributions to community and national development.
In a congratulatory message issued over the weekend, Engr. Alapansanpa described Alhaji Gobir as a brother, friend, and in-law, noting that his patriotism and generosity remain exemplary.
The community leader highlighted the celebrant’s outstanding record of service to the Ilorin Emirate, recalling his numerous initiatives that have enhanced communal growth over the last decade.
According to Alapansanpa, “Alhaji Yakubu Gobir is a man of uncommon commitment whose philanthropic gestures and developmental strides are worthy of commendation. His selfless service continues to inspire many within and beyond Ilorin.”
He particularly lauded Gobir’s comprehensive renovation of the Okesuna Primary School and the ongoing reconstruction of the Gambari Main Mosque, describing the projects as enduring legacies that reflect the spirit of his forebears.
The former Managing Director of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company further commended the celebrant for competently discharging his responsibilities since his appointment as Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of Ilorin by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.
Engr. Alapansanpa also paid tribute to the memory of the late Captain Muhammad Ahmad Yusuf-Gobir, the immediate past Sarkin Gobir of Ilorin, whom he described as a close friend and partner in community advancement.
He prayed for long life, sound health, and continued success for Alhaji Yakubu Gobir, urging him to sustain his commitment to public service and community development.
