Amorim Criticises United After Everton Loss

Date:

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has criticised his players for lacking intensity after their 1-0 defeat to Everton in the Premier League on Monday night.

United had an opportunity to move into the top five with a win at Old Trafford, especially after Everton’s Idrissa Gana Gueye was sent off in the first half. However, the hosts failed to capitalise and conceded the decisive goal to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Amorim admitted his team was second-best throughout the match.

“They were the better team with 11 players and with 10. I felt we were not there with the same intensity. They deserved the win,” he said.

He added that United failed to make the most of their numerical advantage.
“The other team helped us with the sending off. We need to do more in every moment. If they have 10, let’s push them into the final third. We need to do more.”

Manchester United will travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday for their next league fixture.
