APC nat’l convention will cripple Nigeria’s economy for 3days—SINET

The Social Integrity Network, (SINET) has condemned the federal government for approving June 6-8 as the date for the presidential primaries of th4 All Progressive Congress ( APC).
This is contained in a statement issued on Monday by its National coordinator, Mallam Ibrahim Issa.
SINET noted that the decision for holding the event on the scheduled date, being working days of the week has further confirmed that the Muhammadu Buhari-led government is insensitive to Nigerians plights and aspiration for a better nation.
“Indirectly, civil servants working in the Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja have been granted another public holiday because APC is holding its national convention. This will not only cause avoidable hardship the downtrodden but it will also cripple the economy for three days because civil servants who are working in place such as; Head of Service, Three Arms Zone, National Assembly, Ministry of Justice, Foreign Affairs and Federal Secretariat among others will not be able to access their place of work.
“There is high rates of insecurity, poverty, unemployment, infrastructural decadence and strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU) and the ruling part is not sensitivr to the current national situation. It is saddened and this calls for urgent attention.
“Even diplomats who are on foreign mission in Nigeria will not have good experience of our politicking is affecting serious business of nation-building and vis a vis international engagements.
“This is a clear sign of opeession and intimidation of the highest order because the Moshood Abiola Stadium can still be used just like the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did recently. ”
ROYAL NEWS reports spokesman to the FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh, in a statement said: “Within the period in view and beyond, an all-encompassing security deployment has been made. Notable amongst the apparatus of this security arrangement is the emplacement of traffic diversions at strategic places around the event ground as follows;

SINET however expressed displeasure over the scheduled dates nothing that party politics should not be extended to working days in the interest of the generality of the citizenry.
