The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has announced plans to commence continuous electronic membership registration nationwide from March 1, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ejimofor Opara, disclosed this during a news conference on Friday in Awka, saying the exercise will run simultaneously across the country’s 8,809 electoral wards.
Opara said the initiative reflects the party’s commitment to innovation, transparency and inclusive administration. He noted that in June 2024, APGA became the first political party in Nigeria to automate its membership registration process.
He described the development as a step aimed at improving efficiency and expanding participation in the party’s activities.
According to him, the electronic registration process, which had previously commenced, will officially reopen on March 1 and remain open to all interested Nigerians.
Prospective members are required to present a valid voter’s card and two passport photographs to complete the registration. He added that the process can be completed online through the party’s official website.
Opara said new members would receive temporary membership slips after registration, pending the issuance of permanent membership cards.
He clarified that existing members who had already registered electronically are not required to re-register. However, they are advised to upload their passport photographs to update their records via the party’s website or designated WhatsApp platform.
The spokesman said the party is close to reaching one million members and aims to increase the figure to two million through the ongoing drive.
He encouraged eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity to join the party and contribute to national development, saying, “Together, we move forward.”
