Armed bandits attack Kebbi Dep. Gov’s convoy

The Deputy Governor, a retired Colonel in the Nigeria Army has been regularly in Zuru Emirate recently in an effort to be part of military operations to tackle banditry activities in the area.
He decried the unpatriotic activities of some locals disguising in public revealing movement of troops as well as vigilante groups to the Men of under world Colonel Yombe was in company of the Commanding officer 223 light Tank Battalion Zuru, when they became under heavy fire.
The Deputy Governor was in the area to visit various military formations with the intent to boost their morale and assess how the operation is going on.
The Deputy Governor equally commended the bravery of the 223 Battalion military men and vigilante groups for their rapid response in repealing the attack.
He maintained that the state government in collaboration with the other security agencies will leave no stone unturn in the fight against banditry and other criminalities a cross the State.
In the attack, a security aide attached to the Deputy Governor, ASP. Idris Umar Libata along side 18 other military personnel lost their lives.
Colonel Dabai further commended Governor Bagudu for his support and encouragement in taking all necessary actions to tackle the menace while soliciting for public understanding and cooperation against criminal elements disguising in public to perpetrate crime.
Yombe Dabai prayed for the repose of the deceased security aide along military personnel and all those that gave their lives in defence of their territory adding that they shall be remembered for bravery for ever.
