Some unidentified assailants have murdered an hotel manager, Anthony Balogun, at Olunlade area in Ilorin.
ROYAL NEWS gathered that before his tragic death, Balogun managed the hotel, which was originally owned by his mother.
It was gathered that, two gunmen entered the hotel and asked to see the manager, believing they were potential customers, Balogun left his room to meet them at the reception.
The assailants then shot him at close range and brutally attacked him with a machete, inflicting severe injuries to his head, hands, and legs, and even scraping part of his femur.
Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Victor Olaiya, confirmed the incident, noting that it occurred on August 8 and was likely orchestrated by cult groups aiming to stir unrest in the state.
He added that an investigation is underway to apprehend those responsible for the crime.
