At last! Shaawal cresent sighted in……
The Federation of Islamic Association of New Zealand (FIANZ) has announced that the crescent moon of Shawwal has been sighted and Eid-al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday, May 24.
ROYAL NEWS reports that Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has conveyed her greetings to the Muslim community in New Zealand.
As at the time of filing this report (9.50am), local time in Zealand was 9.50pm, indicating 12 hours ahead of Nigerian time.
