Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on security authorities to intensify efforts to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the killing of over 20 people in Adamawa State.
In a statement shared on his verified X account on Friday, Atiku expressed grief over the attacks, which occurred at markets in Madagali and Hong local government areas.
He described the incident as a reflection of the worsening insecurity in the country and said it further deepens the security crisis in the North-East.
“I am deeply moved by the tragic attacks in Adamawa State, where gunmen killed over 20 people in a market in Madagali and Hong local government areas,” he wrote.
The former Vice President urged authorities to strengthen security operations and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice to prevent similar incidents in the future.
