Baba Adinni of Lagos’s demise, end of another era— Emir of Ilorin
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has mourned over the demise of the Baba Adinni of Lagos, Sheikh Abdul-Hafiz Abu who died on Wednesday.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari who condoled with the immediate and extended families of deceased noted late Sheikh Abdul-Hafiz Abou lived an enviable life as a community leader, elderstateman and religious top-notch.
The Emir stated this in a condolence message issued by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, extended his condolence message to the entire Management Council of Lagos Central Mosque over the demise of the sage.
According to Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, “On behalf of the entire members of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, I hereby send my heartfelt condolences to the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Riliwanu Akiolu, President Bola Ahmed, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and members of Lagos State Central Mosque over the demise of the late Baba Adinni.”
The monarch further extolled his virtues saying: “Sheikh Abou dedicated his life to the service of humamity and lived his life in line with the dictate of Almighty Allah and guided with absolute morality and perseverance.
“His demise has no doubt marked the end of another era on earth. Muslim Ummah in Lagos State, Nigerians and global community should be comforted in the fact that Late Sheikh Abou was a pious and good example of a servant of Allah because his history and legacy revolves around values of honesty, dignity, and sacrifice.”
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari prayed that Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and admit him into Al-janatul firdaos.
