Troops from the Joint Task Force, Operation Northeast Hadin Kai, OPHK, destroyed an illegal market operated by Boko Haram / ISWAP terrorists and killed three terrorists in a meeting in Damask on Borno.

This is contained in a statement by the Director of Public Relations of the Army, Onyema Nwachukwu, on Saturday in Abuja.

Nwachukwu, a brigadier general, said that troops from the Fifth Brigade, Sector 3, while consolidating in their tenacious endeavor, recorded a decisive victory against the terrorists on Friday.

He said that the brave troops, while carrying out clean-up operations, codenamed “Operation Dominance I”, came into contact with insurgents in an illegal market operated by terrorists in the village of Gallo Malawari.

“In the fierce encounter, three BH / ISWAP terrorists were neutralized, while others, bowing to superior firepower, withdrew in disarray.

“The troops recovered an AK 47 rifle, a truck, two motorcycles, four empty magazines and 7.62 mm ammunition cartridges, among others,” he said.
