Breaking: EFCC raids Shehu Sani’s residence in Abuja

The Abuja residence of the embattled former member of the 8th National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, is under raid by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes  Commission, (EFCC), ROYAL NEWS has learnt.
The report made available to our correspondent by Sani’s close associate few minute ago through whatsapp stated that ” EFCC raiding Senator Shehu Sani House now in Abuja”.
Senator Shehu Sani’s has been with the commission over alleged extortion matter labelled against him by Alhaji Sani Dauda, Chief Executive Officer of ASD Motors, and former PAN chairman.
Sani’s ordeal in the hands of EFCC is politically motivated, the Senior Special Adviser to the Senator on Politics, Mallam Suleiman Ahmed recently revealed in statement issued and made available to journalists.
“As far as we are concerned, Shehu Sani’s ordeal in the hands of EFCC is politically motivated. If you recall, Senator Sani has been critical about the activities of the Buhari Government and they are not happy with him. I can assure you that they cannot silence Shehu Sani.
“He is supposed to be facing a civil case, how come they seized his handsets and they are asking for their passwords”, Ahmed stated.
Ahmed who disclosed these in a statement released to journalists in Kaduna  stated that the alleged extortion case labelled against Senator Shehu Sani by Alhaji Sani Dauda, Chief Executive Officer of ASD Motors, before the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, took a new dimension on Thursday, 2nd January, 2020 as ASD has allegedly dragged names of more prominent Nigerians, including Mallam Isa Funtua into the case.
The Adviser stated that Alhaji Sani Dauda was Thursday, at the EFCC headquarters, where he made additional statement, mentioned other names of some prominent Nigerians, including Mallam Isa Funtua.
According to him, Senator Sani had met the EFCC bail condition and was to be released yesterday but for the ASD new list into the case, Senator Sani was detained for further investigations.
“Senator Shehu Sani has fulfilled EFCC bail conditions, as a matter of fact, he was to be released yesterday but for this development by ASD.
“ASD was given a paper yesterday at Headquarters where he mentioned names of some prominent Nigerians including Mallam Isa Funtua into the matter.
“From every indication it seems ASD is confused. Senator Sani was supposed to be released yesterday because he has met the bail condition but because of this additional names, EFCC has to go into fresh investigation saying that they have obtained court order to detain Senator Sani for another 14 days.
“As far as we are concerned, Shehu Sani’s ordeal in the hands of EFCC is politically motivated. If you recall, Senator Sani has been critical about the activities of the Buhari Government and they are not happy with him. I can assure you that they cannot silence Shehu Sani.
“He is supposed to be facing a civil case, how come they seized his handsets and they are asking for their passwords.
Our investigations also revealed that EFCC engaged Sentor Shehu Sani and ASD in a cross puzzle yesterday where both men asked each others questions before the anti graft agency after which they said they have obtained court order to detain him for 14 days to enable the commission to carry out extensive investigations.
