Ahead of this year’s Ramadan fasting, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has urged Muslims across the state to watch out for the moon signifying the commencement of the glorious month of Ramadan.
This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, on Friday.
According to him, “The moonsighting activities will feature consultations across all towns and villages across the Kwara State and Nigeria by His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR and members of the Council of Ulama tonight at the Emir’s Palace beginning from 7pm.
“The Emir however enjoined Muslim ummah across the state to be part of the sitting in order to ensure inclusiveness and transparency in the exercise.
“Alhaji Sulu-Gambari therefore prayed Almighty Allah to protect our souls ahead of the glorious month of Ramadan, forgive our shortcomings and accept all our good deeds therein.”
