BREAKING: Kwara award N925.8 indoor sports hall renovation project
The Kwara State government has awarded the renovation of the Indoor sports hall of the state Stadium in the sum of N925.8million to Metro Fittings & Accessories Nigeria Limited.
ROYAL NEWS gathered that the project is expected to be completed within a duration of nine month. The Commissioner for Information in the State, Alhaji Mahmud Ajeigbe, stated this in Ilorin on Wednesday shortly after the five hours State Executive Council meeting held at the government house.
He noted that the renovation of the facility became very important due to the uniqueness of the over 40years existence of the stadium which accommodates about 26 sporting activities.
The Commissioner added that the State government is also committed to tackling the Lassa fever diseases which has infected another victim stressing that Kwarans should not panic as protective equipments have been procured to arrest the situation. Ajeigbe said eight other samples have been sent out for analysis.
In addition, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Communications, Dr. Muideen Akorede, disclosed that about 400 certificate forgeries cases have been discovered by the Hajia Zarah Omar-led Certificate Reverification Exercise Committee.
Dr. Akorede emphasised that the culprits involved in the act are found in both the local and state government services respectively stressing that appropriate sanction would be melted on them while other officers who are yet to be detected are advised to voluntary exit the service.
“The report has been submitted to the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, by the Head of Service, Hajia Omar, for consideration and implementation”, Akorede added.
