BREAKING…. Seante bans visitors, suspends public hearings

In a bid to avoid the spread of the rampaging deadly coronavirus disease, COVID-19 to the Senate, the upper legislative chamber on Thursday banned visitors from accessing its gallery for the observation of its plenary.
Similarly, all slated public hearings on various bills by some committees of the Senate were also suspended.
President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan, who made the announcement after about two-hour closed doors executive session, however, informed that the suspension of visitors to the gallery and public hearings takes effect from Tuesday, March 24.
