Buhari salutes Akinwumi Adesina at 60

President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Akinwumi Adesina, on the joyous occasion of his 60th birthday on Feb. 6, 2020.

The president, in a congratulatory message by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, in Abuja on Wednesday, extended good wishes and prayers of Nigerians for longer life and greater heights.

President Buhari joined staff, directors of the Bank and affiliated multilateral institutions in celebrating the milestone and innumerable contributions of the former Minister of Agriculture and Rural development in Nigeria, to Africa and the global family, with his expertise and wisdom.

He affirmed that the AfDB president had demonstrated uncommon leadership qualities of modesty and foresight in tackling the challenges of hunger and poverty in Africa.

The president also lauded Adesina for displaying an unusual positive energy in devising policies, deploying resources and rallying leaders to improve the continent’s human development index.

President Buhari congratulated Adesina for the many recognitions and awards over the years, both at home and abroad.

He urged him to stay focused on serving humanity with his talent, treasures and time, through which he has brought much pride to Nigeria and the continent.

President Buhari prayed that the almighty God would grant Adesina good health and strength to realize his dreams for Nigeria and Africa.
