COAS Yahaya, Omo-Agege, Anyim, Obi Cubana expected at military book launch

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Faruk Yahaya, Deputy Senate President, His Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, former Senate President and Secretary to the Federal Government, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim are among dignitaries expected to attend the formal presentation and launch of a book titled “Leadership Principles for Junior Commanders In The Military” written by Colonel Chukwu Ogukwe Obasi, Acting Commandant, Nigeria Army School of Medical Sciences, Ojo, Lagos, scheduled to hold on Thursday 7th October, 2021 in Abuja.

Gen Yahaya is the chief host/ book presenter, Sen Anyim will be the chairman with DSP Omo-Agege as the Special Guest of Honour. Chief Obinna Iyiegbu also known as Obi Cubana is the Chief Launcher. Prof Mande Samaila, Director, Centre for Human Resources, National Open University is the book reviewer while HRH Major Alhaji Sanusi Mohammed Amad Asha, (Sarkin Kiyawa), Emir of Kaura Namoda Zamfara is the Royal Father of the day.
According to a statement released by Gerald Ujunwa CEO, Maxnont Limited ( the Event managers) the book is an amalgamation of academic theories and practical experiences of the author in his many years of military service.

“In the world today, good leaders are needed more than ever before. But it is more needed in the military than any other place because the actions taken by military commanders are highly significant. The military is unique because it is one of the few organizations that rely on itself to train its leadership and this book is very apt in that regard. It discusses such topics as military leadership, qualities of military officers, core values expected of the officers and men as well as challenges of military leadership in the 21st century. It is good for both junior and military officers as well as the public

“Driven by the changing dynamic democratic society in developing countries such as Nigeria, it is expected to be of immense benefit to junior military and paramilitary field commanders as well as create better understanding of military-civilian relations”, the statement read.
