The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has upheld the suspension of the former National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, along with Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, Deputy Legal Adviser Okechukwu Osuoha, and National Organizing Secretary Umaru Bature.
The appellate court affirmed the judgment of the Federal High Court, delivered by Justice James Omotosho, which had also suspended the officers and restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcome of the PDP’s 2025 National Convention.
The PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) had initially suspended Anyanwu and the other officers on November 1, 2025, following disputes arising from the party’s convention. The Court of Appeal’s ruling on Monday upheld the High Court’s October 31, 2025, judgment, maintaining the status of the suspended officials.
