The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, on Thursday, donated two locally-fabricated modular fumigators and drones to the Ondo State government.

Speaking while handing over the fumigators and drones to the state government, he said the reality of the COVID-19 necessitated the need to look inward for homemade solutions as the country must not rest on its oars.

Oba Adeyeye disclosed that the donations were his contribution towards assisting the state in the fight against the pandemic in the state.

Accordingto him, “A lot of people will be wondering why I leave my palace and going around with this project. The truth be told, why are you a king if you can’t cater for your people?

“In the olden days, traditional rulers are always at the forefront and give courage to their people during any crisis or war. I am leading by example for every other person to know that COVID-19 is real.

“We are presenting two modular fumigators to the Ondo State government free of charge. The drone will work in term of rendering service for a particular time free of charge.

He however commended the governor for the step taken so far, in curtailing the spread of the deadly virus in the state, describing it as commendable and heartwarming.
