Don advises Nigerian politicians on outcome of US polls
Politicians have been advised to learn tolerance, understanding and diplomacy in relating with diverse groups of their constituent.

Coordinator, International Media Watch Group for Peace and Strategic Initiative, Dr. Al-Ameen Abdulkadir gave the advice in a statement made available to newsmen.

In the statement titled ” 2020 U.S Election : A lesson for Nigerian Politicians”, Dr. Abdulkadir noted that, the failure or success of the two prominent candidates, Trump and Biden is largely influenced by their disposition to minority groups in terms of habitual display of hatred or adaptive tolerance.

He noted that the era of imperialism in politics has gone as public office holders are not only assessed by what they put on the table in terms of achievements but also based on how they treat their subjects.

Dr. Abdulkadir also called on Nigerians particularly foreign policy makers not to be over excited with the outcome of the election, noting that American political philosophy of ” Putting Americans First and Conquer the World” remains the same irrespective of the party or candidate that wins.

He implored them to rather look for ways of maximizing the benefit of African-American tie as more Nigerians unprecedentedly emerged victorious in the election.

While identifying the flaws in the U.S election, Dr. Abdulkadir noted that if rigging could be obviously pronounced in developed democracy in the 21st century, it shows that
democracy is not only in danger but a failure, hence the need for African Political Thinkers to start visualizing a strategic political system that befits the African settings.

The media practitioner also called on U.S President-Elect, Joe Biden to learn from factors that contributed to the down fall of Donald Trump particularly Hate Speech and Xenophobic agenda to avoid such pitfall.
