The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has announced the suspension of the planned 10-day power outage earlier scheduled to affect parts of Enugu State.
The outage, which was supposed to run from Wednesday, October 22, to Friday, October 31, 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily, has been cancelled due to unforeseen technical constraints.
Emeka Ezeh, Head of Communications at EEDC, confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, explaining that the decision followed a directive from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).
Earlier, the company had announced that several 33KV feeders in parts of Enugu metropolis ā including Kingsway Lines 1 and 2, Emene Industrial Lines 1 and 2, Thinkers Corner, Trans-Ekulu, Ugwuogo, and Ituku Ozalla ā would experience power interruptions on a rotational basis during the maintenance exercise.
Ezeh assured customers that a new schedule for the maintenance work would be communicated once arrangements are finalized.
He also apologised to affected customers for the inconvenience caused by the change, emphasizing the companyās commitment to improving power supply reliability across the region.
