The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released a former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.

Abati confirmed to The PUNCH that he was released around 8pm yesterday.

He said his bail has been processed and the paper work will be completed by Monday.

The PUNCH earlier reported that the former presidential spokesman submitted his passport to the Commission.

Abati was arrested last week following allegations that he received N50m from the Office of the National Security Adviser for unstated reasons.
