A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ekiti, Engr. Kayode Ojo on Monday appealed to delegates to the May 5, primary to vote according to the dictate of their conscience.

Ojo, who is a leading contender to the governorship seat made the appeal in a statement issued by his media committee in Ado-Ekiti.

He admonished the delegates not to mortgage the future of their children and vote for the candidate that will take the state out of the doldrums Ekiti state was thrown into through bad governance over the years.

Ojo was of the view that the future of Ekiti is in the hands of the youths and they must rise to the challenge.

“I appeal to our distinguished delegates not to be lured by money to vote against their conscience as this will amount to mortgaging the future of the state and our children.

“We must get it right this time; let us collectively say no to money politics, cash and carry politics and politics of the highest bidder.

“Ekiti people are politically conscious and enlightened; let us say no to the old brigades that have been recycling themselves in politics all these years.

“If they offer you money, take it; it is your money, but don’t sell your conscience, vote for the best and not the one with biggest amount of money,” Ojo said.

The governorship aspirant was of the view that APC has all it takes to defeat the PDP led government in the state.

“The four years of misrule of PDP in Ekiti is a campaign booster for the APC. People are tired of the lies PDP tells Ekiti people on daily basis,” he added.

Ojo lamented the plight of pensioners in the state who have had it so rough under the Fayose administration by his refusal to pay their pension and gratuity for months.

He therefore promised that APC government would address all the injustices the PDP government had done to the civil servants, teachers and pensioners.

“Payment of salaries of workers in the state will be my priority, especially pensioners who had served the state meritoriously.

“It is a sin against God and humanity to deny workers their salaries, pensions and gratuities, the Holy Bible frown against owing workers salary after working for it”, the aspirant added.
