Election: INEC receives sensitive materials in Kwara

INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kwara, Malam Garba Attahiru Madami has said that the commission has taking delivery of all Sensitive materials for Saturday elections.
Attahiru-Madami said this on Thursday in Ilorin that all the sensitive materials were in the custody of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
He added that officials of the Commission have started sorting out the materials in the open at the CBN witnessed by agents of the political parties, representatives of the DSS, Police, Civil Defence, Immigration and UN observers.
The sensitive materials include ballot papers, Form EC 8 and result sheet form and were being sorted into the various Local Governments were going on.
The REC said the ballot papers were for the President, Senate and House of Assembly elections in the 16 local government areas.
He added that after the sorting, the materials would be moved to their various local governments with Police escorts.
Attahiru-Madami said non sensitive materials like ballot boxes, ink, stamp pads and other stationeries have earlier been moved to the 16 local governments.
The REC added that all the sensitive materials would be kept at the Divisional Police Headquarters at each local government headquarters.
According to him, the sensitive materials would be moved to the 193 Registration Areas (RAs) on Friday evening where they would be sorted in the various polling units in the open glare of political parties’ agents and security personnel.
Attahiru-Madami however assured the people of the state that INEC would conduct the most credible, transparent, free, fair and internationally accepted election come Saturday.
