The traditional ruler of Ojoku in the Pyun local government area of Kwar State, Oba Abdulrasaq Afolabi has said that the clash between supporters of APC and PDP on Feb. 19 affected the turn out of voters for the presidential and national assembly election.
He stated his shortly after casting his vote in Ojoku community.
The monarch said: “The election went on successfully, it has been peaceful. But, due to the tension in the town since Tuesday as a result of the clash between APC and PDP supporters, the turn out is not much as we used to have.”
He however commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for postponing the election as it was justified.
According to him, ”The postponement at the die minute is justified, because there is no smoke without fire. INEC officials were just smart to say logistics, but when you go underneath, there are some issues that they cannot explain to everyone.
”After elections, they may make a lot of arrests, a lot of revelations will come out due to the postponement.”
