Emir of Ilorin commissions Sheikh Ibrahim Niass Central Mosque
The Sheik Ibrahim Inyass National Central Mosque of Nigeria located at Medinat, Abayawo, Ilorin, has been commissioned, even as the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari called for unity and peaceful co-existence among Muslims.
The commissioning of the mosque was part of a week-long activity
marking the 31st Maulid celebration of the Senegal, Kaolaq born
revered Islamic scholar, Sheik Ibrahim Inyass.
The project estimated at N135 million was the initiative of MEDFAT
Islamic organisation under its founder, His Eminence, Sheik Abubakar Sidiq Yusuf Abayawo.
The mosque project whose foundation was laid in the year 2000 was a replica of similar mosque in Senegal, Kaolaq.
Performing the commissioning of the mosque on Friday, the Emir of llorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, enjoined Muslims to imbibe
tolerance, unity and shun acts capable causing religious disaffection.
The Emir, who was represented at the ceremony by Balogun Gambari of Ilorin, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammed, described the mosque project as “unprecedented in the history of Ilorin, Kwara State and Nigeria in general”.
He commended Sheik Yusuf and members of the organisation for the laudable initiative, adding that it was the first of its kind in the
country.
Sheik Yusuf, in his own remark, said the execution of the mosque
project was a divine calling to propagate Islam and honour Prophet
Mohammed through the leader of Torikah Tijaniyat Worldwide, Sheik Ibrahim Inyass.
“In the year 2000 we went for completion of Ramadan at Kaolaq and we were lodged in Saida Baliqees’s house.
“At night Sheik Ibrahim came to me in my dream and asked about his mosque to which I relied that we have not started.
“Waking up I summoned my people and we all agreed to replicate the Sheik Ibarahim mosque in Kaolaq in Nigeria with the first launching of the mosque in the 2003,” he said.
Sheik Yusuf disclosed that the construction of the mosque also
witnessed spiritual signs from Allah which included the sighting of a rosary and a mysterious palm on the mosque dome as well as the sudden disappearance of four spiritual messengers to the mosque.
Sheik Muhammed Arobih Ibn Muhammad Fathi, from Maiduguri, who led the Juma’at prayer in the mosque, prayed for unity, peace and tranquility among Muslims.
