Emir of Ilorin returns home today

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman kwara State traditional Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has admonished Nigerians to always imbibe the culture of educating their children/wards as part of nation-building process.

Sulu-Gambari who spoke with journalists Wednesday night on his arrival at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport,Ikeja from the United Kingdom.

The Emir noted that “education is the bedrock of any developed economy” stressing that “youths are no longer leaders of tomorrow because our tomorrow starts today and we need to prepare for it adequately.”

ROYAL NEWS reports that after about fours weeks stay in the United Kingdom, the Emir is expected to return back to the ancient city of Ilorin this afternoon (Thursday) amidst mammoth crowd.

While in London, Alhaji had met with the Nigerian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Nigerian Students, associations as well as members of the Ilorin Emirate Descendant Progressive Union, London chapter.

He urged them to be good ambassadors of the nation even as he implored them to remain calm and always pray fervently for Nigeria to come out strongly from the current economic woes.

Traditionally, the Emir is expected to be recieved on arrival in Ilorin by the most senior traditional Chiefs (Balogun and Magaji Aare), the Chief Imam of Ilorin and other clerics, Magajis, Alanguas, market women and associations as well as the entire citizenry and well wishers in the Ilorin Emirate and beyond.
