Emir of Ilorin celebrates with Prof. Oyawoye at 93

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has rejoiced with the Baba Adini of Kwara State and first Professor of Geology in Africa, Alhaji Jamiu Mosobalaje Oyawoye, as he clocks 93 years old today.

The monarch noted that old age is as unique gift from God to whosoever he wills adding that Professor Oyawoye is a great asset to the world and Kwara State in particular.

This is contained in a congratulatory message by the Emir’s Media Aide, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona on Wednesday.

Alhaji Sulu-Gambari said that Oyawoye is an erudite scholar of international repute, community leader, philanthropist par excellence, a great mentor, an accomplished academician and a devout Muslim who has contributed immensely to the growth and development of research, scholarship and socio-cultural activities across board.

“I celebrate with you as you clock 93 years old today. I specially thank Almighty Allah for your life most importantly for being a proud Kwaran, elderstateman, global citizen and successful family man.

“May Allah give you sound health and wisdom to the meritorious service of God and humanity”, the Emir said.
